Battlefield 2042, Near-Future Warfare
Battlefield 2042 is a multiplayer shooter by DICE set in the year 2042. The world is gripped by climate crisis, and stateless specialists fight over resources on massive maps supporting up to 128 players. Tornadoes, sandstorms, and rocket launches create dynamic battlefield events. After a rough launch, DICE conducted a major overhaul of the game.
Modes and Maps
All-Out Warfare features classic Conquest and Breakthrough for 128 players. Hazard Zone is a tactical PvPvE mode. Portal is a unique mode allowing custom game modes with content from Battlefield 1942, Bad Company 2, and BF3. Dozens of maps range from arctic landscapes to urban ruins.
Specialists and Equipment
Instead of traditional classes, Battlefield 2042 uses specialists with unique gadgets. Each specialist has an active and passive ability. Weapons and equipment are freely customizable. The Plus system lets you swap weapon attachments mid-battle.
Vehicles and Events
A rich selection of vehicles: tanks, helicopters, hovercrafts, jets. Dynamic weather events — tornadoes, sandstorms — change the course of battle. Maps evolve during matches with structure destruction and landscape changes.
