The Forgotten Realms
The story begins in the fortress of Candlekeep and leads through the Sword Coast to the city of Baldur's Gate. The open world offers dozens of locations to explore: forests, caves, cities, and dungeons. Each area is filled with quests, random encounters, and hidden secrets.
D&D Combat System
Combat plays out in real-time with active pause using AD&D 2nd Edition rules. Six party members use spells, weapons, and class abilities. Mages prepare spells in advance, warriors fight in melee, and clerics heal the wounded. Tactical depth requires thoughtful party composition.
Enhanced Edition New Content
The Enhanced Edition adds three new companions, each with their own storyline. The new Black Pits arena offers a series of gladiatorial battles. Multiplayer allows playing the entire campaign with friends, each controlling their own character.
